21st May 2018 General Data Protection Regulations 2018 Privacy Notice
These new regulations come into force on 25 May 2018 and it is important that all
patients are made aware of them. Further information can be viewed here or you can
ask at reception for a copy of this Data Protection Privacy Notice.
17th May 2018 Overdue your smear? Drop-in clinic
If you are overdue your smear we are holding a drop in clinic at Chilwell Meadows
Surgery on Tuesday 26th June 4pm-7pm. There is no need to book an appointment - just
26th April 2018 Registration of new patients
Due to the number of patients who have recently registered with our practice we regret
that the decision has been taken to close our list to new registrations.
In the last few days we have taken on many new patients but in order to continue
to offer a safe level of care and acceptable access to our existing patients we have
unfortunately had to take this action.
We have been granted permission from Nottingham West CCG and NHS England to close
our list and having taken this action we are not permitted to accept any more new
registrations. Neither our Doctors or our staff have any discretion in this so this
is non negotiable. The only permitted exceptions are newborn babies to existing patients
and family moving into the same household as existing patients.
Other practices in the area are still accepting new patients with no limit to numbers.

29th Sept 2017 Flu clinics
Our flu clinic this year is on Saturday October 7th. If you are over 65 or have certain
long term conditions you are entitled to have a free NHS Flu vaccination. Book your
26th April 2017 Code of practice for repeat prescriptions (regular medication)
New guidance has been issued on how we as a practice, your pharmacy and you as a
patient will be expected to manage any regular medication you may be taking. Please

22nd August 2016 Flu clinic this year
The date for this year’s main flu clinic is Saturday 8th October. Please contact
the surgery if you want to make an appointment.
9th June 2016 New partner joins the practice
We are delighted to welcome back Dr Sarah Thomas as a new partner to the practice.
Some of you may remember her as our Registrar (trainee GP) a couple of years ago.
She will be seeing patients on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
8th March 2016 Friends and family test
When you visit the surgery you have the opportunity to give us feedback on whether
you would recommend us as a surgery. We have forms you can complete at Reception
or online (see the homepage of this website). The question is: "How likely are you
to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they need similar care or treatment?".
The results for the year 2015 are as follows :
Extremely likely 85%
Neither likely nor unlikely 5%
Extremely unlikely 4%
3rd March 2016 CQC inspection rates Chilwell Valley and Meadows Surgeries
We are very proud to have been rated as ‘outstanding’ by the CQC inspection that
took place last October. As a surgery we pride ourselves on the service we offer
our patients and are very pleased this has been recognised by the CQC.
11th January 2016 Text (SMS) reminders for appointments
We are starting this new service 11th January 2016.
You will receive a confirmation text one week before your appointment and another
a day before. If you do not receive a reminder it could be that either we don’t have
your mobile number or it is not the correct one. Please let us know! If you do not
wish to receive text reminders you are able to opt out – please inform Reception.
30th October 2015 New telephone system
Our phone system has been upgraded and there have been reports of the occasional
